The honest comparison: Nyhilism vs the field.

Where we beat JuicyAds, ExoClick, and TrafficStars — and where we're still smaller, newer, or behind. No selective omissions.

By The Nyhilism team

Marketing copy that pretends competitors don’t exist is embarrassing to read. So here’s the comparison written the way the people we actually want to hear from would prefer it: unvarnished, with the parts where we’re behind labeled clearly. The numeric breakdown sits on /vs — this post is the prose context.

Where we beat them today

Public quality scores

JuicyAds, ExoClick, and TrafficStars all run internal-only traffic-quality systems. The signals they collect overlap heavily with ours — viewability, IVT, CTR — but the resulting number is a sales-tier tag (“premium,” “standard,” “remnant”) rather than a per-publisher grade. We publish the per-publisher grade. Same number, same method, same audit trail. This is the wedge.

Refund mechanic on invalid traffic

All three of the big networks credit-back invalid traffic. We deduct it pre-invoice. The difference looks small until you try to actually use the credit-back system. The mainstream version is “dispute a charge, wait, get partial credit a billing cycle later.” Ours is “the charge was never on the invoice; here’s the line-item proof.” For an advertiser running tight cashflow, that’s a real delta.

Publisher payout cadence

Weekly past a $50 minimum vs net-30 on the others. We pass the rail fees through at cost — Paxum, USDT, wire. Holding publisher money for 30 days is a free loan and most platforms do it because the publisher won’t leave over a payout cycle.

Public network health

Status page, changelog, and a live impressions ticker on the homepage are all open to anyone. None of the big three have a public status page worth speaking of, and none publish their changelog. Side benefit: a public status page is actually operational pressure on us — outages are visible, so we can’t pretend they didn’t happen.

Where they beat us today

Inventory scale

JuicyAds claims 250M+ daily impressions. ExoClick claims 8 billion. TrafficStars claims 7 billion. We’ll have a meaningful publisher count when we finish the alpha. Right now our ticker reads “dozens.” If you’re an advertiser whose campaign needs to deliver 5M impressions tomorrow, we are not the answer to your problem this quarter.

Geo coverage

The mainstream networks have years of accumulated publisher relationships across every geo. We’ve onboarded publishers in a handful of countries. Tier-1 traffic (US, UK, DE, FR, CA, AU) is the focus while we ramp; specific tier-3 geos may have zero coverage.

Format breadth

We launched with banner zones (300×250, 728×90, 300×100, 160×600, 320×50, 970×250). Pop-under, in-stream video, in-page push, and direct-link formats are on the roadmap but not in production. If you specifically need push notifications as a format, the big three serve you better today.

Pre-built integrations

ExoClick and TrafficStars have native integrations with the major traffic-tracker platforms (Voluum, BeMob, AdsBridge, FunnelFlux). Ours is HMAC-signed webhooks and a webhook endpoint UI — fine if you’re comfortable wiring it up, less fine if you’re looking for a one-click connector. Real tracker integrations are scheduled for v1.5.

Where we’re even

  • PhotoDNA enrolled. All four of us run PhotoDNA on creative uploads. This is table stakes for an adult ad network.
  • DMCA designated agent + 2257 statement. All four have these on file.
  • Auction + direct buys both supported.ExoClick + TrafficStars + Nyhilism all run a first-price auction with a direct-buy fallback. JuicyAds is auction-only on most formats.
  • Revenue share.Mainstream caps at 70-80% to publishers; we’re at 70% flat. Slightly worse on headline rate, but the chargeable-impression math is different because of the pre-invoice IVT deduction. Effective take-home depends on your traffic mix.

The honest summary

If you’re a publisher with a clean adult site who wants to be visible to advertisers on the basis of what your site actually doesrather than which tier the network files you under — start here. You’ll be early, the earnings will be variable, and we’ll talk to you personally.

If you’re an advertiser who’s tired of being told invalid traffic is “normal variance” — wait list with us. We’ll open advertiser signups in earnest once the inventory side has enough scale to make the auction compelling. In the meantime, watch /stats to track the ramp.

If you’re a network operator reading this and you want to copy any of the public-quality-score / pre-invoice-IVT / weekly-payouts pieces — please do. We don’t think we’re going to win this market by being the only ones to ship these features. We think we’re going to win by shipping them first and not retreating from them when it gets inconvenient.
