Policy

Refund policy.

Plain-English refund policy for advertisers and publishers using Nyhilism. Read this first if you’re wondering whether a specific charge is refundable — the four buckets below cover everything.

Summary

Nyhilism issues refunds in four documented situations:

  • Invalid traffic. Impressions and clicks that fail the traffic-integrity system are deducted before the daily invoice closes (the event aggregator that does the closing lands before GA; until then, invalid hits are tagged in the event log and credited on the first close).
  • Service-credit refunds. Documented platform outages that prevent campaigns from serving for more than 4 consecutive hours.
  • Direct-buy bookings.Refunded per the Escrow.com milestone rules — see “Direct buys” below.
  • Auction-deposit refunds.Unspent auction balance can be withdrawn back to the original funding instrument at any time — see “Auction deposits” below.

Outside these four situations we do not issue refunds on delivered, valid impressions. The rest of this page is the long version, written so a payment-processor underwriter can answer their checklist questions without contacting support.

02

Invalid-traffic refunds

Every impression that runs through Nyhilism passes through a traffic-integrity check: datacenter ASN detection, viewability (IntersectionObserver), tab-focus check, click-fraud heuristics, and a configurable per-user impression cap. Impressions that fail any of these checks are marked invalid in the event log.

Invalid impressions never reach the daily spend rollup. The advertiser is not charged for them, so there’s nothing to refund — they’re zeroed at source. Advertisers can audit their invalid-traffic discount per campaign at any time from /dashboard/campaigns/[id]/traffic-quality.

This is the only refund path that runs without manual review. The other two require email contact.

03

Service-credit refunds

If our public status page (/status) reports a platform outage that prevents your campaigns from serving for more than 4 consecutive hours, we credit your advertiser balance for the daily budget pro-rated over the outage window. The credit is applied automatically to the next day’s billing window — no email needed.

The 4-hour floor exists because shorter incidents are indistinguishable from inventory variance. If the outage is longer than 24 hours we refund the full daily budget for every calendar day fully covered by the incident.

04

Direct-buy bookings (Escrow.com)

Direct-buy zone bookings settle through Escrow.com. Each booking is a separate Escrow.com transaction with milestone inspection windows defined by the booking length:

Booking lengthInspection window
1–7 days24 hours after delivery
8–30 days72 hours after delivery
31+ days5 business days after delivery

Within the inspection window the advertiser can dispute the booking through Escrow.com if the publisher failed to deliver the contracted impressions or zone. Escrow.com mediates the dispute under their standard rules; Nyhilism provides the delivery log (impressions served, IVT flags, click-through rate) on request.

If the dispute is resolved in the advertiser’s favor the funds release back to the advertiser’s funding source on Escrow.com’s schedule (typically 1–3 business days after resolution). Nyhilism does not hold or release the funds — the escrow agent does.

05

Auction-deposit refunds

Auction deposits are processed by CCBill, Epoch, or Segpay depending on the advertiser’s country and chosen rail. Unspent deposit balance can be withdrawn back to the original funding instrument at any time by emailing [email protected] from the registered account address.

Processing time

  • Credit / debit card refunds: 5–10 business days to appear on the cardholder statement.
  • ACH / bank rails: 3–5 business days.
  • Crypto deposits: not refundable to the originating wallet; balance can be paid out via approved payout rails instead.

Fees

The processor’s deposit fee (typically 5–15% for adult) is non-refundable. We pass the processor fee through and do not mark it up. Spent balance — i.e. money that already paid for valid impressions — is not refundable.

06

Publisher payouts & reversals

Publisher payouts are not refunds — they’re scheduled disbursements. Earnings clear to the publisher’s chosen payout rail (Paxum, USDT-TRC20, or bank wire) once the balance exceeds the $50 minimum threshold.

A payout can be reversed in two situations:

  • Post-payout fraud finding. If we discover that some portion of the earnings were generated by bot traffic, incentivized clicks, or any other violation of the traffic-integrity rules, the corresponding amount is clawed back from the next payout window. We document the finding in the publisher’s dashboard before the clawback runs.
  • Returned wires. If a bank wire bounces (bad account number, beneficiary mismatch, OFAC hit), the funds return to the publisher’s in-app balance and the wire fee is passed through.
07

How to request a refund

Email [email protected] from the registered account address with:

  • Account email + organization name.
  • Transaction ID (visible in /dashboard/billing).
  • Reason — referencing one of the four buckets above.

Response SLA: 1 business day to acknowledge, 5 business days to resolve once the documentation is in hand. Direct-buy disputes route to Escrow.com; we forward them on your behalf if you prefer.
